The Nigerian Safety Investigation Burea NSIB says it has commenced Investigation in the accident involving an aircraft operated by flint Areo at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport ibadan on Friday evening.
The NSIB in a release by its Director Public Affairs and consumer protection James Odaudu said their investigators are already on site and further information will be provided as soon as possible.
However minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo at a stakeholders forum in Lagos today blamed the accident on poor landing facilities at the airport as the aircraft overshot the Runway.
An HS 125 Aircraft with nationality and Registration marks 5N-AMM belonging to flint Aero upon final approach to landing on Runway 22 Ibadan Airport crashed short off the Runway.
There were 10 passengers on board and three crew members enroute Ibadan from Abuja.
There was no fatality as all passengers and crew were safely evacuated
