United Nigeria Airlines on Monday commenced flight operations to Katsina State with its inaugural landing at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport.

The maiden flight, which departed from Abuja, was received in Katsina by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, alongside state officials, traditional rulers, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and members of the Igbo community in the state.

On board the historic flight were the airline’s Founder, Professor Obiora Okonkwo; former Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari; APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru; Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter; National Vice Chairman (North West), Honourable Garba Datti Muhammad and National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa Rijau.

Other dignitaries included APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Sulieman Argungu; Deputy National Financial Secretary; popular cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere (Odumeje); and United Nigeria Airlines’ Director of Administration, Linus Awute.

United Nigeria Airlines, a private Nigerian airline, received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) four years ago and has since expanded its operations while with headquarter in Enugu, and operational base at Enugu International Airport, the airline runs scheduled flights across nine Nigerian cities, including Abuja, Onitsha, Asaba, Yenagoa, Warri, Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.

The expansion into Katsina is part of the airline’s strategy to improve connectivity across Nigeria, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
