The Chairman, House Committee on Aviation Technology, Tajudeen Kareem Abisodun, has bemoaned the poor wage profile of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), staff.

Abisodun, who stated this when he led the Committee on an oversight visit and facility tour of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, attributed this as major reason for the prevalent attrition and poaching of her trained personnel by sister agencies and the industry sector with higher salary remuneration.

The Committee Chairman, while applauding the contributions of the College in the fortunes of the Nigeria and global aviation industry, assured the committee of his administration’s plans to harnessing the college immense potentials to gain maximum benefits for the College and the aviation industry.

He also assured of his committee’s commitment to supporting the college in addressing its major challenges.

While commending the College Rector, Danjuma Ismaila, Abisodun noted that his committee will carefully study the the detailed presentation made by the Rector with a view to ascertaining priority areas of interventions.

The Chairman further assured of the committee’s regular interface with the Rector to meet necessary needs of the college.

The Rector and his entire management team, who warmly received the Committee members, seized the opportunity to appraise for the team the strategic position of the college in churning out a great percentage of the aviation industry workforce and professionals in the Country.

He also appreciated the generous commitment shown by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo and other predecessor administrations in the success story of the institution.

He appealed for the continued kind assistance of the committee in ensuring the improvement of budgetary allocations and funding for the college.
