There was fire outbreak at the Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos today.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN says its fire fighting team responded swiftly to contain the situation, and fortunately no life was lost.
FAAN disclosed that as their firefighting teams continue efforts to fully contain and curtail the fire, passengers and airport personnel have successfully been evacuated.
FAAN further disclosed that as part of efforts to contain the fire, and strengthen response efforts, it activated mutual aid arrangements and called for reinforcements from the Lagos State Government, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant Emergency agencies.
Though the cause of the fire is not yet known, FAAN reassures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard lives and property
