The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has restated its firm commitment to maintaining transparent, equitable, and statutory-compliant employment procedures across all departments, reassuring staff, stakeholders, and the wider public of its dedication to professionalism and due process.
The agency in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire,,reaffirmed that its recruitment, placement, and career-progression systems strictly follows established regulations that promote meritocracy, competence, and organisational efficiency.
FAAN stressed that these frameworks remain central to its operations and will not be compromised under any circumstances.
The statement disclosed that the Managing Director has authorised an additional internal review to address a number of employment-related concerns brought to management’s attention.
The review is intended to strengthen clarity in policy application, ensure consistency in the treatment of staff, and boost confidence in the systems governing progression and promotion. It will also enable FAAN to identify structural gaps and introduce necessary improvements where required.
FAAN emphasised that no employee is ever forced to modify or conceal their qualifications at any stage of the recruitment or promotion process.
All hiring and placement decisions are based strictly on advertised vacancies, established criteria, and voluntary submissions by applicants.
The Authority added that any adjustments to policies or procedures are handled responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with public service standards.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy for workplace misconduct, FAAN underscored that harassment, intimidation, abuse of office, and related violations are dealt with firmly.
The Authority noted that its internal mechanisms for reporting misconduct, conducting investigations, and applying sanctions remain active, confidential, and robust.
Any action inconsistent with FAAN’s values or the dignity of its workforce is thoroughly examined and addressed through established disciplinary channels.
The agency further highlighted its ongoing commitment to nurturing a work environment founded on integrity, mutual respect, professional growth, and excellence.
It said these values are upheld across all operational units, including Aviation Security (AVSEC), Aviation Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS), and other essential services that contribute to the safe and efficient functioning of Nigeria’s airports.
FAAN concluded by commending the dedication of its staff and encouraging continuous collaboration, constructive dialogue, and strict adherence to due process.
It assured that these principles would guide the Authority as it continues its mission to become a world-class provider of airport services.
