No scarcity of passport booklets…… ACG NIS Zone A

Assistant comptroller general ACG Nigeria Immigration service NIS in charge of zone A, Doris Braimah says there is no scarcity of passport booklets
Braimah who made this known in a chat with journalists says it is touts who seek means to extort money from unsuspecting Nigerians trying to acquire their international passports that use scarcity of booklets as a way to justify their extortion
She noted that these touts are very smart and that is why the comptroller general of immigration Mohammed Babandede have always told applicants not to patronize touts but ensure they fill their forms and documents online themselves
She charged applicants to Ensure that they complete their documents before coming to the passport office adding that the NIS has a process of acquiring the passport.
She said “NIS has improved technology to eliminate human interface. Majority of Nigerians are not IT compliant and so most times they want to interface with people to fill the form but we have help desk and servicom of Immigration they can approach when they need, instead of going to touts”
Braimah advised passport applicants to embrace the various technological portals available in seeking their passports or other travel documents as it is aimed at reducing human interface to a large extent.
She charged Nigerians to take advantage of the technology provided and avoid touts.
Earlier ACG’ Braimah dwelt on the need for the influence of positive projection of the nation stressing that the Nigeria Immigration service NIS with all its accomplishment is poised to project the nation positively
Braimah noted that the NIS had embarked on alot of technology driven reforms and policies for enhanced service delivery.
Some of the reforms include the migrants E registration which is expected to have a central data base for foreigners residing in Nigeria
The NIS has also came up with effective border management policy as well as improved visa policies amongst others
