Akanu Ibiam international airport Enugu set to reopen on August 30th 2020 as Runway reconstruction is 95% complete.
Minister of aviation Hadi Sirika made this known Tuesday after an emergency inspection tour of the on going reconstruction work on the Runway.
He stated that the perimeter fence of the airport had been constructed and the airfield lightning fixed.
The outbreak of the covid 19 pandemic had halted work on the Runway in March 2020, the Akanu Ibiam international airport Enugu airport Runway project commenced last year .
The minister met with the contractor, officials of FAAN as well as Enugu state Government and assured that 30th August 2020 is feasible because there is less work left to be done
