As part of efforts at ensuring that passengers get quality and improved services at the airport to enhance their travels, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN has commissioned the newly refurbished E-wing departure terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport MMIA Lagos

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo while commissioning the facility on Friday also commissioned four environmentally friendly Compressed Natural Gas CNG powered air conditioned buses aimed at improving passengers movement within the airport

Keyamo commended FAAN for the initiatives, as it is a show of their commitment at ensuring enhanced passenger satisfaction at the Airport.

The Minister emphasised on the essence of collaborative efforts as it is with FAAN and the United bank for Africa UBA which the remodelled departure terminal is part of the dividend.

Keyamo stressed that” This remodelled E-wing is an outcome of our collaboration with Hussling and UBA. The new design includes modern lighting, upgraded flooring and more prominent advertising displays all aimed at improving passenger experience ”

He also stated that “This is part of a general plan by FAAN endorsed by the ministry, to continue to remodel all of them in partnership with private entities within our limited resources to make them more user friendly. What we are doing here today is the commissioning of the remodelled E-wing Depature Hall of the MMIA. You can see what we have done here, our Concessioners have done tremendously well in partnership with UBA, we want to thank them so much, this is the outcome of the partnership, the new floor, a well lit departure hall, the adverts everywhere, we are going to other wings of the airport, we are going to work on the D-wing”

The Minister also commended FAAN for the provision of the CNG powered buses as it is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s vision for sustainable energy.

He noted that the decision by FAAN to invest on the buses reflects government’s commitment to reducing reliance traditional fossil fuels and embrace eco-friendly practices ”

Managing Director of FAAN Olubunmi Kuku assured stakeholders of the agency’s commitment at improving facilities at the airport adding that plans are underway to invest in cooling systems, equipment ugrade and infrastructure modernisation by 2025.
