The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), under the supervision of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, and the leadership of its Managing Director, Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, has recorded landmark achievements that underscore its commitment to excellence in airspace management.

At the ceremony held in Abuja, the Managing Director led other top management staff to present the prestigious ISO 9001 certification to the Minister, a testament to the agency’s adherence to global best practices and its
robust Quality Management System.

In a statement by the
Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister, Tunde Moshood, stated that Keyamo lauded NAMA’s remarkable strides, describing the certification as a perfect end-of-year gift and a strong validation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Minister, Festus Keyamo, commended the leadership and staff of NAMA for their transformative contributions and assured continued support to further enhance the country’s aviation ecosystem.

Keyamo, said the achievement represents the culmination of an eight-year journey that began in 2016 following an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) audit, which identified critical gaps in Nigeria’s airspace management.

The statement stressed that through relentless effort and strategic reforms, NAMA achieved ISO 9001 certification by December 2024, signifying compliance with international standards in safety, efficiency, and the maintenance of Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) infrastructure.

Adding to its accolades, NAMA was recently recognized as one of Nigeria’s best-performing service delivery agencies, receiving the Award of Excellence for Quality Service Delivery from the SERVICOM Presidency, Nigeria.

Engineer Farouk Ahmed Umar, accompanied by his management team, including Ndubuisi Lotenna Nmoneme (Director of Finance and Accounts), Dr. Abdullahi Musa (Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection), and Mr. Haske Jibrin (Senior Special Adviser to the Managing Director), expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service.
