Comptroller general of Nigeria Immigration service NIS Mohammed Babandede has charged newly promoted officers of the service to see their elevation a call for more responsibility.
Babandede who gave the charge at a virtual decoration of some of the officers Wednesday in Abuja say their new position comes with a high sense of responsibility, as they must be up and doing and exhibit high sense of professionalism and commitment in discharging their duties.
Babandede told the officers that ” Your promotion is not by chance, it is because of your hard work and am convinced that you deserve it, that’s why you are promoted. To whom much is given, they say much is expected, but am expecting too much from you because things have changed “. Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Assistant comptroller general ACG Doris Braimah stated that as they assume their new roles, they are aware of the fact that it comes with huge expectations and responsibility, and promised that they will do all within their powers to uphold the values of the NIS as being carried out by the Braimah promised on behalf of the newly promoted officers that they shall perform their duties and task diligently and not let the service down.
29 officers were promoted from the rank of comptroller Immigration service CIS to Assistant comptroller general ACG, while 71 were promoted from Deputy comptroller Immigration DCI to Comptrollers.
The decoration of some of the newly promoted officers was performed in Abuja by the chairman board of Immigration service, correctional service, fire service as well as Nigeria civil defence Emmanuel Bassey.
Other promoted officers are expected to be decorated in their various zonal offices.
