International flight resumption: MEA, BA arrives MMIA

International flight operations commenced Saturday at the Murtala Mohammed international airport lagos
Middle East airline which is the first scheduled commercial airline to commence flight operations after over five months of the shut down of the nation’s airspace, arrived at exactly 2.30pm
The aircraft which had about 222 passengers on board with 15 crew member was welcomed with the water cannon, which marks the restart of international flight operations.
Earlier at 9am some passengers had arrived the airport for boarding and were made to observe the protocols and procedures as stipulated by the Nigeria centre for disease control NCDC for covid 19
Regional general manager MMIA Victoria Shin-Naba while receiving the passengers stated adequate measures have been put in place to ensure hitch free facilitation of passengers in line with the protocols and procedures of covid 19, as part of the new normal.
Shin-Naba disclosed that adequate hand sanitizer, thermal scanners as well as markings on the floor to ensure physical distancing as passengers board their flights
On his Comptroller Immigration MMIA, Abdullahi Usman say to ease their process of documentation of the passengers, the service has alot put in alot of measures in line with the new normal for a seamless process of discharging their duties.
Usman further disclosed that in line with the mandate of the comptroller general Nigeria Immigration service Mohammed Babandede, officials of the NIS at the lagos are adequately prepared for the discharge of their duties in line with the new normal.

At about 5.40pm British Airways aircraft landed at the airport, thereby making the second aircraft to arrive Nigeria Saturday for the commencement of international flight operations.
