Managing director of FAAN Olubumi kuku had a function at the weekend disclosed that the agency and NSA have agreed to carry out short and long term measures to address the issue including the creation of a joint coordinator room, where all the agencies can view CCTV cameras to ascertain what they are looking for.
Kuku described the issue of multiple baggage check as disturbing, but affirmed that the issue was the first thing she inquired upon assumption of office stressing that she personally sat down with the National security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to discuss how to streamline the facilitation processes
She noted that the issue of baggage goes beyond FAAN as other agencies like customs NDLEA, Quarantine and now EFCC amongst others are at the Airports, there is also Executive order 001 during Buhari’s administration to move them out under the then vice president office, now the single window.
