Bi Courtney Aviation services limited BASL, operators of murtala Muhammad Airport two lagos says since 17 years of its existence , the airport has evolved into a symbol of excellence, innovation and efficiency in the Nigerian aviation industry.

Acting Chief operating officer COO, MMA2 Remi Jibodu at a media briefing in lagos to mark the 17years of the airport said they have achieved numerous milestones that have propelled them to the forefront of the global aviation landscape.

He stated that “one key achievement I am immensely proud to highlight today is the resounding success of our Public Private Partnership model . This innovative approach has not only enhanced the operational efficiency of our airports but also fostered collaboration with private entities, enabling us to deliver world class services to our passengers and stakeholders ”

He disclosed that with the commencement of flight operations from the airport by Chanchangi airline on the May 7 2007, the airport currently have about 10 domestic Airlines flying from the terminal adding that the terminal play host to over ten thousand guest every day.

Jibodu stressed that this has strengthen their commitment to continuous improvement and significant development of their infrastructure.

He further revealed that the airport recently developed a flight disruption guideline after noticing a growing trend of passenger unrest at the slightest provocation,,as this often leads to property damage and abuse of staff and users of the airport, adding that this unrest has been reduced tremendously to the barest minimum.

Jibodu noted that going forward plans include further expansion of the terminal facilities, implementation of improved technology to enhance security, sustainable initiatives to expand their cargo ecosystem, and the commencement of regional operations from their terminal.
