United Nigeria Airlines has extended warm congratulations to Ibom Air on the occasion of its seventh anniversary, with the carrier’s Executive Chairman, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, lauding the airline’s resilience and steady growth in Nigeria’s demanding aviation sector.
In a goodwill message addressed to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air, Mr George Uriesi, Okonkwo described the airline’s seven-year journey as a remarkable achievement and a reflection of strong leadership and the commitment of its workforce.
Ibom Air, which is owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, commenced operations in 2019 and has since emerged as one of the country’s leading domestic carriers, earning a reputation for reliability and quality service.
Commending the airline for its ability to thrive despite the numerous challenges confronting operators in the country, Okonkwo said Ibom Air had demonstrated exceptional resilience in navigating the difficult business environment.
He noted that the carrier’s achievements over the years were the result of visionary leadership and the dedication of the entire team, adding that the airline’s performance had earned the admiration and respect of industry players.
“On behalf of all of us at United Nigeria Airlines, I warmly congratulate you and the entire Ibom Air family on the occasion of your seventh anniversary,” Okonkwo said in the message.
“The success Ibom Air has achieved is a testament to your visionary leadership and the dedication of your team. You have navigated the turbulence of a challenging operating environment with resilience and, for that, you have our deepest respect.”
The United Nigeria Airlines chairman said the anniversary provided an opportunity to celebrate the milestones attained by the airline and to acknowledge the efforts that have sustained its growth in an increasingly competitive market.
He further encouraged the management and employees of Ibom Air to remain committed to the pursuit of excellence and continue building on the successes recorded since the airline’s inception.
“As you mark this milestone, I charge you and the entire team to keep the flame of excellence burning. Congratulations and cheers to many more years ahead,” he stated.
Industry observers have often cited Ibom Air’s consistency and customer-focused operations as factors that have contributed to its growing prominence in the Nigerian aviation landscape.
The congratulatory message from United Nigeria Airlines underscores the cordial relationship among indigenous carriers and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the nation’s aviation industry despite prevailing economic and operational headwinds.
As Ibom Air celebrates seven years of operations, the airline continues to play an important role in enhancing domestic connectivity and supporting the growth of air transport in Nigeria.
