As part of efforts in enhancing the security operations of the Nigeria Immigration Service,NIS, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), has donated a 28-seater bus to the NIS lagos Command.
Executive Secretary/CEO,LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who led his team to the Lagos Command of the NIS on Tuesday to officially hand over the Coaster Bus, appreciated the NIS, for doing their best in ensuring that Lagos is safe, which is paramount to them.
He stated that “Whoever is interested in keeping our dear state safe would definitely be our Partner ”
Ogunsan expressed appreciation to the state governor ” Mr Governor made this possible and donor Lagosians made this possible and the Board of Trustees members made this possible, and what I want to say that to whom much is given, much is expected.”
He urged the Lagos NIS to continue to do its best in ensuring that the State is safe, and slso assured that the agency will continue to support the NIS in combating crime.

The NIS Comptroller Chris Onajinrin, who spoke behalf of the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for the timely intervention and their unwavering support to security agencies in Lagos State.
He further stated that the Coaster Bus will significantly enhance the Command’s operational capacity, particularly in the movement and repatriation of irregular migrants.
Onajinrin noted that one of the major challenges previously faced by the Command was the high cost of sourcing vehicles for large-scale enforcement operations and repatriation exercises.
The lagos Comptroller revealed that just last week, the Command successfully repatriated 128 irregular migrants comprising nationals of Cameroon, Chad, and Burkina Faso
He noted that such operations require reliable transportation and substantial logistics, and that procuring suitable vehicles had always come at a considerable cost.
Onajinrin added that with the operational Coaster Bus now at the Command’s disposal, those challenges would be drastically reduced.
“The Command can now deploy personnel and transport irregular migrants more efficiently, respond faster to operational needs, and carry out its statutory responsibilities with greater ease.”
Comptroller Onajinrin emphasized that the donation would further strengthen the Command’s migration management efforts, improve service delivery, and reinforce its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s borders while ensuring orderly migration in Lagos State.
The ceremony was concluded with the presentation of the 28-Seater Coaster Bus to the NIS Lagos state Comptroller Chris Onajinrin
