Bandits have attacked the kaduna airport killing one guard believed to be a staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency NAMA, this Saturday.

The bandits allegedly attacked the VHF omnidirectional range (VOR) site at the airport disrupting flight operations.

Acting managing director of NAMA Mathew Pwajok who confirmed the attack disclosed that the Bandits attacked the VHF omnidirectional range VOR equipment site at kaduna civil airport around mid day , shot the security man attached to the equipment, he later died from injuries as a result of the gunshot.

Pwajok however did not confirm the status of their equipment as the area was said to be under heavy military presence.

The flight on ground which was delayed eventually took off, following the intervention of the military to repel the bandits in a gun battle.

Kaduna airport was attacked a year ago, when bandits stormed the staff quarters of the federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN
