The Nigerian civil aviation authority NCAA has issued a circular to foreign airlines flying into Nigeria and all aviation stakeholders that the Murtala Mohammed international airport lagos and Nnamdi Azikwe international airport Abuja are scheduled to reopen for flight operations on the 5th September.
According to a letter to operators signed by the Director general of NCAA Musa Nuhu which reads “Following the announcement by the presidential Task force PTF on covid 19 on the Partial resumption of international flights, we wish to inform the industry of the following: Murtala Mohammed international airport lagos, Nnamdi Azikwe international airport Abuja will resume international operations effective 00.01z on 5th September 2020.
Also, the Nigerian Airspace Management agency NAMA has issued the Notice to Airmen NOTAM of the operation.
Managing director of NAMA Capt Fola Akinkuotu said “The NOTAM was issued immediately it recieved circular from the NCAA. The NOTAM takes effect from the hour 0001 on the 5th September
The NCAA in the circular states that other international airports namely Mallam Aminu kano international airport kano, Port Harcourt international airport Omagwa, and the Akanu Ibiam international Airport, Enugu will remain closed to international flights until a new date is determined and announced.
