327 Nigerians , including nine infants were evacuated from London by Nigeria’s leading airline Airpeace this Sunday. The Nigerians were airlifted with the airlines Boeing 777 aircraft with registration number 5N-BWI from Heathrow Airport London .
They arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 20:41hrs, where some of the passengers disembarked and the remaining passengers were taken to the Murtala Mohammed international airport Lagos. Spokesperson, For Airpeace Stanley Olisa, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, especially the Nigerian Embassy in London, for choosing Air Peace to conduct the flight, adding that the flight was important to the airline as it gives the airline the opportunity to further show its capability for long-haul flights.
“We’re delighted to have operated this flight. It unmistakably shows that Air Peace can fly to anywhere in the world, given the required support of the government”. Air Peace has been operating some ‘special flights’ to and from different countries, including China, Turkey, India, Israel and South Africa, since the ban on international flights in Nigeria, as a result of the covid 19 pandemic ravaging the world.
