The Accident investigation Bureau AIB says it has commenced investigation into the helicopter crash that occurred in Lagos on 28th August 2020
The AIB in a release say they were informed of the crash by the lagos state emergency Management agency LASEMA
General manager LASEMA Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said they were faced with the problem of crowd control when they first arrived the scene of the crash adding that it was the effort of the police led by the state police commissioner that they were able to control the crowd.
Other agencies at the crash include the AIB, Red cross, NEMA, Nigeria Army as well as aviation agencies Nigerian civil Aviation authority NCAA, AIB.
Oke-Osanyintolu disclosed that they were able to rescue one passenger alive, and recovered two bodies.
The crash did not affect any occupants of the two buildings.
He said items recovered from the crash site including the voice recorder have been handed over to AIB, as the wreckage of the aircraft was also removed and taken to the AIB office.
He said integrity test will be carried out on the affected building to ascertain the extent of damage.
The owners of the buildings were however grateful to God for sparing their lives and .called on the government as a matter of urgency repair their buildings that were affected.
Meanwhile operators of the helicopter, Quorum aviation say they have informed AIB and NCAA of the accident involving their helicopter on it’s way from Port Harcourt to lagos killing two persons and one critically injured in Opebi area of lagos.
