Newly appiontment Chairman of the Board of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Abdullahi Ganduje has cautioned against institutional rivalry amongst agencies in the sector and called for collaboration.
Ganduje who made this known in lagos on Tuesday when he paid his maiden visit to FAAN Headquarters noted that execution of function by different institutions if not carefully handled together will result in damaging the overall objective.
He stated that ” Organizational structure is vital, we expect corporation among directorates, no directorate itself will succeed without the corporation of other directorates. So there should be a seamless understanding of synergies. I also call for more coordination.
He further stressed that “Personal attitude to work contributes a lot in the overall goal attainment of the Agency, so I believe we should improve on our personal disposition toward achieving the goals of FAAN”.
While acknowledging the challenges the agency is grappling with Ganduje commended the Managing Director of FAAN and her management team as there are signs of concerted efforts at addressing the challenges and moving on.
He said”Of course there are some challenges, and we have started discussing about the challenges and how things will be resolved. Some of the challenges according to what we have seen are that of abandoned projects awarded many years ago, not awarded by the present management ”
“Some equipment originally put in place are now Obsolete according to modern technology. So they have designed a way in order to resolve all such issues. Also financing because some of these abandoned projects, but they are sorting them out to see how we can scale some and make better use of them”
