The reigning NIGAV King and Queen, winners of the prestigious pageant organized by the Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards were hosted
by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2).
The King, Henry Chika, a purser with ValuJet Airlines, and Queen, Aisha Yakub, a flight attendant with XEjet, who are ambassadors of professionalism and exemplary conduct in Nigeria’s aviation sector, were received at MMA2, a terminal renowned for its commitment to passenger satisfaction and operational efficiency, the Acting Chief Operating Officer of BASL, Remi Jibodu.
In his remarks, Jibodu, who congratulated the King and Queen, said their visit underscored the importance of a harmonious and respectful environment for all stakeholders within the airport ecosystem.
While noting the symbolic significance of their roles, Jibodu, said they are pleased to welcome the King and Queen of the Air to MMA2 and celebrate their achievements.

MMA2, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, disclosed that beyond their individual wins, the pageant, as is customary, serves as a unifying platform for the aviation industry.
In a clear and resounding message, the organizer of the NIGAV Awards and the visionary behind the King and Queen of the Air platform, Fortune Idu, lauded BASL’s hospitality and ongoing support for initiatives that elevate industry standards.
Idu said the platform was created to empower cabin crew members and give them visibility on key issues, noting that they are proud to see how it continues to inspire and unify the aviation community.
During the visit, the King and Queen engaged in meaningful conversations with BASL executives, aligning strongly with the organization’s Zero Tolerance for Violence policy.
Discussions centered on the rising incidents of unruly passengers and the need for multi-stakeholder advocacy to curb the trend and reinforce the values of respect and safety in aviation.
Reacting to this, Jibodu said BASL has consistently maintained a firm policy against any form of violence, vandalism, or disruptive conduct within its premises.
He said passengers are urged to channel any grievances through appropriate and lawful means, as outlined by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs).
The airport management however reiterated its commitment to taking decisive legal action, including prosecution and potential inclusion on “no-fly” lists, against anyone found to be in violation of the regulations.
The Head, Space and Premises and Acting COO at BASL,Kola Bamigboye in his comments, also congratulated the reigning King and Queen adding that the visit served as a timely reminder that while flight delays and cancellations can be frustrating, such situations do not justify aggressive or violent responses.
He said the industry remains dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and pleasant travel experience for everyone, and this requires the cooperation and civility of all passengers.
